Mark Bishop is appointed Headmaster

Mark is a distinguished educational leader who currently serves as Chair of Governors at Charterhouse School.

Educated at Charterhouse, St Edmund Hall, Oxford, and Henley Management College, his career began with teaching posts at the Royal Grammar School Guildford and Caterham School. He then spent a decade as Headmaster of Trinity School, Croydon, where he led a period of significant development.

His tenure at Trinity saw the refurbishment of the swimming pool and the creation of the Trinity Concert Hall, the launch of the Trinity Bursary Fund, and the introduction of a co-educational sixth form. He also oversaw the school becoming the first All-Steinway School in the country and the construction of a new sports pavilion, which served as the training base for the French national rugby team during the 2015 World Cup.

After Trinity, Mark became Chief Executive of Perrett Laver, a global executive search firm, before returning to education as Executive Headmaster of YK Pao School in Shanghai.

Mark, who has also served as an independent schools' inspector, defines his educational philosophy as a "rigorous pursuit of excellence balanced by a compassionate concern for individuals," striving to stretch students' potential while building their self-confidence through encouragement and support.
